I received the preliminary site plan from the architect. All of us are making our best guesses with where everything should go based on drone images that have been converted to a topographical….let’s call it a ‘representation’.
Technically, I probably should have had an official survey done by an official survey company. Problem is….all that I’ve contacted so far either don’t answer or are backlogged with work. I opted for the drone images because, 1. the guy was available, and 2. he cost way *way* less than a ground survey.
There is still a crap-ton of vegetation that is hiding the contours of the land. BUT….
Starting Monday, there will be manly men and machines cutting the beginnings of a driveway and moving the heavy logs around. Many of these hardwood logs I hope to repurpose into retaining walls, raised beds, pole barns and at the very least firewood and hugelkulture fodder.
Here’s the 3D video Bamboo Living sent to show where things will go.
The other structures are placeholders for a 15K gallon water tank, 2 sheds, a solar array and a natural swimming pool. NOT to scale!!
There is a lot to do yet, but progress is being made.
